1960
Comment: Roosevelt dimes produced during 1960 are rife with doubled die varieties, RPM's and even "pointed" and "blunt" 9's in the date. The designer's initials are stronger and better defined than in the previous year. The "J" has a bigger hook than before which makes it almost look like the letter "U". These variations may have been the result of some repair or maintenance as there is no information about a new obverse hub.

Another observation about 1960 production is that a "nick" develops in the right side of the "O" in GOD. This nick is present in Philadelphia, Denver and proof issues. It is also interesting to note that this nick will continue to be present on coins produced in 1961. This problem was apparently corrected in 1962.

Doubled Die List
Comment: Given the number of doubled die varieties already
catalogued, it would be fairly realistic to presume that
there are many others waiting to be discovered.
