Comment: There are an abundance of doubled die varieties for 1963. Almost every one of them has been reported on proof issues. It seems peculiar that almost none of the regular issue coins have been reported to exhibit this same proliferation of error. Perhaps 1963 may prove to be a fertile hunting ground for regular issue doubled die discoveries.
Also, the imperfection on the “W” of the word WE in the obverse motto IN GOD WE TRUST (as described in the chapter for 1961) continues to be present on many coins from each mint as well as on proof issues.
